I knew he grew . . . but wow . . .

Anyone else think he's going to need a new car seat soon?

Happy 1/2 Birthday to me!

Hi everyone! I am six-months old today!!! I just got home from the doctor and here are my stats:

weight = 19 pounds 12 ounces

length = 29 1/2 inches

head = 19 inches

So if you're keeping track - I'm one ounce shy of gaining 2 pounds since my last visit and I'm exactly 2 inches longer. I'm in the 85th percentile for weight and am off the chart in length and head size. Dr. Goedecke said to expect my first tooth to pop through in the next week or two . . . so watch out!

I am sitting up all on my own (although I'm still a little wibbly and momma stays right beside me) and I love Peek-a-boo. I'll pull my burp cloth over my face and wait for someone to notice I'm missing. Then when I hear "where did Joseph go?" I yank the cloth off my face and smile. Daddy & Momma love that game too. I also love to roll and surprise Momma when she comes in the room and I'm not exactly where she left me.
Here are some pictures of me from today.

Sewing

I've been doing a lot of sewing lately and have started a new blog about it which you can check out here. Because of this, Christopher has been high-alert daddy status and as you can tell, it's a tiring job! I shut them up in the bedroom a couple of days ago when a model came by to try on a dress and when I went back in, this is what I found.

Kiss Me! I'm Irish!

We took Joseph down to King Street for the St. Patrick's Day Parade last Saturday. We were a little afraid that the noise would scare him but he seemed to enjoy it. Afterwards we walked through the market and down to the port to get a close-up view of the visiting cruise ship. Then we headed over to Tommy Condon's Pub where, after a 2-hour wait, we all enjoyed some corned beef on rye and Guinness. (Not Joseph of course! Thank goodness for comfy strollers that lull sweet babies to sleep.) We also ran into a ND Irish fan/alum named Joseph who stopped to admire our Joseph's attire.

Toes are yummy

Joseph has been pretty fascinated with his feet but tonight he finally figured out how to put those little toes in his mouth!

Update

As you can see from the video below. . . Joseph is rolling. He rolls from his back to his tummy almost as soon as we put him down. Then, since he hates being on his tummy, he yells until we flip him back over. This is not crying . . . . this is actual yelling.

We went to Atlanta this past weekend to visit some friends. Joseph fell in love with little 2 1/2 year-old Emma and she loves him. He laughed at everything she did. In turn, she offered encouragement after every bit of food at meal time. "Yeah baby!" . . . followed by clapping. She was also quick to make sure he had Puppy and pacifier at all times. Unfortunately Joseph came down with his first illness while we were there. After a middle-of-the-night call to the doctor's office, we snuggled the little guy in bed with us where he promptly went back to sleep while Momma tried to keep him elevated and then stressed about his fever all night. He's feeling much better now although congestion is still causing him (and us) to get up at least once during the night. Hopefully our 10+ hour night-time sleeping baby will be back soon. I don't know how I did it before! :-)

Baptism

To make our weekend even busier. . . we scheduled Joseph's baptism for this past Sunday so more family could attend. We were blessed that both sets of grandparents, aunt Natalie, all of his cousins, 3 sets of great-uncles and aunts and 2 of his momma's cousins could be there. We had a brunch at our house afterwards.
