Indiana Visitors and Ellen's birthday

Part 1 - Indiana Visitors

For the past week we have had Grandma Ellen, Aunt Natalie, Scout, Rigby and Baby Tennyson staying with us.  Aunt Megan also came for a few days in the middle!

We really enjoyed spending time with our family and playing, playing, playing.

Joseph was so proud to have his mama and aunts walk him to school one morning.
And Denbigh got her first pig tails while they were here!

The last morning the cousins lined up for a final good-bye.
Jake & Scout are five months apart in age and the best of friends.  They will miss each other.

(As a follow up - here is my Facebook Status from this morning: My kids are so hung over from a week of playing with cousins. One is crying because his big brother ate the last of the cereal. (He could have had some if he had eaten his eggs instead of messing around). One is crying because I took the dog outside without her. She also burst into tears when I handed her some milk this morning and threw it at me. One is being awarded Mathematician of the Month this morning at Flag Salute, is ready for school and is quietly reading. So far today he's my favorite. Don't tell the others."

Part Two - Grandma Ellen's birthday

For Grandma's birthday we had brunch at home and then we enjoyed lunch and pedis at La Costa Omni Spa (my favorite!)

It was a gorgeous day and we were able to eat outside with a beautiful view of the golf course.

And then pedis!  Scout really enjoyed hanging out with the big girls.  She was pretty worn out from skipping her nap and was happy to snuggle against me and watch a movie on the iPad while I got my pedi.

In the evening we surprised her with with close to 70 birthday cards from family and friends and then enjoyed her birthday cake.

A little update

Just a little look at the kiddos this month. . .

Jacob had fun making his valentines for school.  They had to be homemade and he did a really sweet job.

He also loves painting on the easel he got from Santa for Christmas.  His favorite things to paint are scenes from Disney, Jr. cartoons.

Denbigh was up to some shenanigans one day and so Daddy set her up with her own spot to watch some cartoons.  She thought she was the queen-bee.  (not-so-secret - she is.)

Dressed for church on Valentine's weekend.  Denbigh was able to re-wear last year's dress with leggings!

And finally - Joseph was awarded this morning with Mathematician of the Month for his class.  Each month they have an area of focus such as: perseverance, improvement, etc.  This month the emphasis was on: Working Carefully & Accurately.
