Growing and Graduating

They say that when a baby sleeps a lot, it means they're having a growth spurt. oh no. . . . Joseph at 4 months is already outgrowing his 3-6 month clothes. We go to the pediatrician on Friday so we'll be back with the official stats in the afternoon. Joseph is enjoying his hands right now and is beginning to get interested in his feet. Today he seems to be facinated with his tongue and keeps sticking it out and chewing on it. Funny baby.

In other news, Christopher defended his masters thesis on Friday afternoon and officially graduated the program at MUSC. He's already knee deep in the PhD program and has his Qualifiers the first weekend of March (which incidently is the same weekend as my sister's wedding here in Charleston - we're not a busy family or anything!)

Tuckered Out!!!

The plumbers came yesterday and after dealing with them I came back into the living room to find this. I quickly moved him to a more comfortable sleeping place.. . . .after snapping a quick picture. ha ha

Joseph loves getting changed...

Super Bowl - here we come

This is Joseph ready to go cheer on the Colts in their playoff rematch with the Patriots. I'd like to say that this Hoosier spirit outfit brought good luck to the Colts. But the truth is that Joseph decided to revisit dinner all over it and ended up watching the game in overalls.

The last of the peaceful moments

Yesterday Joseph rolled over. Daddy gave him a practice push to show him again how it's done and pretty soon Joseph was toppling over all by himself. Before we know it he'll be on the move and we'll finally have to childproof our house. But right now he's taking a nap with Puppy and momma got a little camera happy. I won't post them all. . . ..

And here are a couple of other random shots from earlier this week. . . .

Ch. . . ch. . . ch. . . changes!

It's hard to believe when you're holding your tiny (or not sooo tiny in our case) baby at the hospital that in three short months they'll have changed so much! At first it's just eat, sleep, poop. . . . but then all the sudden you realize that you have a little boy instead of a baby. A little boy that likes to grab at and play with toys. A little boy that smiles when you go get him out of his crib in the morning. A little boy that likes to giggle when you tickle him. Sweet little boy.

Christmas Collages

When trying to figure out what to give our family members for Christmas the easy answer was - Joseph! Or at least - pictures of him. Here is a replica of pictures we took and put into collage frames for our parents. They turned out pretty sweet!

Geaux Irish!

Joseph, being the bruiser that he is, has entered football training camp already. We are trying to expose him to different teams so he'll be prepared when it's time to sign the dotted line. :-) He came home from the hospital in an orange "Born a Volunteer" onesie and thanks to Grandma, he was able to enjoy the Sugar Bowl last night in blue and gold. (of course we don't want to totally limit his options so look for the Cubs and White Sox outfits when baseball season starts up.)

Introduction

Three months ago our family expanded to include the cutest, sweetest (and may we say smartest) baby boy in the whole world. Yes - we are biased. What new parents aren't?! I'll have to admit that some other pretty cute and smart babies were born around the same time to some of our friends. Joseph is going to be in good company. The three of us live in Charleston, SC. Christopher is getting his PhD at MUSC. Emilie is currently working as the wedding director at our church, Redeemer Presbyterian. Joseph is a smiling, giggling, amazing bundle of joy.
