Joseph is 20 months old today. It's hard to believe that he's closing in on the terrible twos. (although it's really not that hard to believe sometimes. . . you know, when he's throwing a tantrum).
His vocabulary is booming. He has a name for everyone in the family:
Papa - Papa!
Nana - ana
Katie - ka-ee
Alissa - isa
Travis - tabi
Aftin - a-in
Grandpa - Pawpaw
Grandma - Mawmaw
Natalie - neeny
Jon - sha
Megan - geggie
Chris - ki
Rudy - roo-ee
Dakota - doda
Dante - danay
Kimmy - im-ee
We practice a lot. Other favorite words are still "ball" and "car." And he loves to say "A---en" after his bedtime prayer.
Joseph also has moved on from just playing with the blue pieces in his ABC puzzle, to sorting out all the colors, naming the letters and putting them back where they belong. He loves to sing the "ABC Song."
Joseph's favorite TV shows currently are "Curious George," "Clifford," and "Super WHY." And he loves to watch the VeggieTales "Ballad of Little Joe" over and over.
Joseph also loves to go bye-bye and will run bring me his shoes at random times in hopes that we're going somewhere. Because that means he gets to go outside and down the stairs just holding momma's hand. He also really likes to help carry shopping bags inside. And unload the dishwasher, and the dryer . . . . and the lazy susan. He's so helpful. What momma wouldn't rather have all her cans stacked on top of the garbage can where she can see them instead of in the cupboard?!
Joseph loves to tell stories and is very expressive. I can't wait until I can actually understand everything he's going into great detail about.

It should be illegal . . .
to play the sound of a baby crying or a siren on the radio.

um, there's a monkey on your back . . .
So my mom brought this monkey backpack/harness for Joseph the last time she came to visit but he hasn't used it. With 2 trips looming in the near future - one of which is DisneyWorld - I thought we should start getting Joseph used to it. Well - it was a huge hit. He wore it all morning. Then brought it to me after his nap to put it on him "agin". He did not want to take it off at bedtime but finally settled for snuggling with it and taking it to bed with him.
