Zoo Day

Joseph had last Thursday and Friday off of school so we spent Thursday morning at the zoo.  It was a beautiful brisk day for our outing and we all had a lot of fun.  Some great friends met up with us as well.

Riding the "choo choo" . . . . a favorite part of our visit.

from the mouth/brain of a 2.5 year old

"Big Hug Please.  Up in the sky!" - interpretation: I would like you to hold me while standing up.

"Arrrrgh.  I a piwat!!" - no interpretation needed.

Daddy: "Jake, what do you want me to bring you from my trip?"
Jake: "treasure!"

Upon seeing his brother on the couch with pillow, blanket and bucket. . .

"I sick too!"  (runs off.  returns moments later with his own bucket.  lays down on couch and asks to be covered with blanket.  reaches for bucket and makes fake vomit noises.)
"I feel all better now!"

"3. . . 2. . . 1. . . Blastoff!!"

"Hurry up Minnie! Go! Potty!"

Halloween - Part 2

After a dinner of yummy meatloaf muffins and mashed "boo"tatoes,
we dressed up our Angry Birds and headed out to "go treating" in the neighborhood.

Daddy and Mama agreed that this was one of the most fun "treatings" we've had.  We walked the dog and stayed at the end of the driveways while the birds rang the doorbells, collected the loot and wished everyone a "Happy Halloween."  The best part was when our little red angry bird would giggle the whole way down the driveway and then shout: "next house! more treating! YES!"

Our neighbors are generous and buy the good stuff.

We also decorated our flower beds with these Pinterest-inspired glow sticks in the paper towel rolls we've been saving.

Halloween - Part 1

As part of Red Ribbon week - on Wednesday the kiddos were allowed to dress in "future college" or "future career" gear.  Despite my suggestion to wear something from the many Notre Dame and UT items already around our house, Joseph declared: "but I want to be a doctor when I grow up!"

Dr./Aunt Alissa came to the rescue and sent us an extra pair of scrubs which mama altered to fit this awesome little future doctor.

50th Day of School

Tuesday was the 50th Day of School and the kindergarten classes celebrated by dressing up and having a Sock Hop in the cafeteria. . . complete with Coke Floats!

It is also Red Ribbon Week at school (say no to drugs) and the theme for the day was "Crazy Hats." Joseph knew exactly which hat he wanted to wear.

First Field Trip

Lined up and ready to go!!!
So excited to be riding a school bus for the first time.
Our class was called for the hayride.

And now - in search of the perfect pumpkin.
 still searching . . .
 and searching . . .
 Found it!!!

 Joseph's class photo . . .
 Digging into our sack lunches.
 And then playtime!!!!

Such a fun first field trip!!!!!

Family Fun Fest

Our little Angry Birds loved the Family FunFest at church this year.

They enjoyed exploring the firetruck,
and checking out the back seat of a police car.
But they probably had the most fun in the jump castles.

And every little bird needs a corn dog break.

Game Day at Our House

Jacob's Trick or Treat Trail

The theme for Jacob's class table at the school pumpkin patch was Razorbacks.
We turned this little pumpkin . . .
into this little piggie. . .
And this curious little monkey went to school.

The kiddos were all very excited to go get the candy.
 Jacob and his friend Raelyn.

Curious George was a very good little monkey gathering his treats.
But then his curiosity got the better of him and he had to sit down and check out his loot.
