On to week #2!

Here we go again.  Happy Monday!!!

First week of school

The first week wore us all out.  Who knew Kindergarten as so tough?!  Bedtime got progressively earlier and earlier.

But we had a great time walking to and from school.  It is wonderful living right around the corner.

First Day of Kindergarten - part 1

We picked out an outfit.
 We got our gear ready.
We got up bright and early and ate a yummy breakfast.
 We made our sandwich. . . .
 . . . and packed a yummy lunch.
We got dressed!  all. by. himself!!!  (tucked in shirt, belt through all the loops.  yay!)

And then we posed for quite a few pictures.

We walked to school and found our class and let mama take a picture with his teacher.
And then, after a thumbs up and hug, we left him there and went to the Boo Hoo Breakfast.

Penguins, Laundry and Choo-Choos! Oh My!

Saturday was Members Day at the Zoo.  Our morning started off with a bit of rain but it cleared up by lunch time so we headed out!  We got there in time for the Penguin feeding.

And then we did some feeding of our own.
Members Day included unlimited rides on the Carousel and Train.  Here are two excited boys waiting for their turn on the train.

Another big project was completed this weekend.  Awesome Daddy has been making a new drying rack for the laundry room.  And it is done!!!
Mama is so excited about our old wobbly rack being replaced by this amazing one.
Another week = another picture of the boys looking at the fish after church.
We finished off our weekend with a surprise dinner out at one of the boys' favorite restaurants.  They get so excited with the choo-choo delivers the food.

organizing for school

I will let you in on a little secret.  This mama likes to be organized.  What?  That wasn't a secret? ok.

In the attempt to at least start out our year on an organized note:

We first organized Joseph's closet.
He gets to wear uniforms to school and we're very excited about that.  It makes getting ready so much easier!  We attached all of our shorts to the hangers with clips.
And then we matched up shirts and hung them over top of the shorts.
 Ready to go!
Now Joseph can just grab one hanger in the morning and he's all set.
 Next we reorganized our pantry.
I cleaned off the bottom shelf and made it snack central.  I should have done this long ago!  We can grab a few things for the lunch box but everything is also easily accessible for other snack times.

We also got a new little drawer for the fridge just for snacks and lunch packing purposes.  After grocery shopping, it only takes a few minutes to wash grapes and divide them out into snack bags.  Now we have bags of grapes, carrots, gogurts, cheese sticks and capri-suns all ready for Kindergarten lunches and a certain two-year-old that needs grapes while watching Mickey Mouse!

Summer Vacation - Day 55

I don't know what kind of school Phineas & Ferb attended but we didn't get anywhere close to 104 days of summer vacation.  Not even if we added in Saturdays and Sundays.  We had 55 wonderful days of summer vacation.

For our final day: daddy took the morning off of work and we all headed out to IHOP for breakfast . . .
where we sugared up the boys on chocolate/chocolate chip funny face pancakes and chocolate milk.
Then we headed to the Museum of Discovery to run off all that sugar.

The boys earned and enjoyed some good nap time in the afternoon.

Then in the evening we headed off to school to find out who would be Joseph's Kindergarten teacher.  We found his name on the list, found his classroom, found his seat and put away all his supplies.
To finish up our special day we enjoyed Sloppy Joe's/Jakes for dinner along with our favorite tater tots.  And since we had all that chocolate for breakfast, we had strawberry, blackberry, blueberry, pomegranate, orange, greek yogurt smoothies for dessert.
