Photos!

Yesterday my sweet friend came by with the pics we ordered from our maternity and Denbigh's newborn sessions.  I am seriously in love with all of them.  Jenny is able to capture the most angelic looks on my children's faces. Here is a glimpse of just a few that she dropped off.
 Incredible right?!

Fry it up in a pan

This weekend Daddy tried his hand at a new fried chicken recipe.  Mama is not a huge fried chicken fan but I must say that this was the Best. Fried. Chicken. I. Have. Ever. Had.  Seriously!  He brined it overnight in buttermilk and then dredged in seasonings and flour.

First Day of First Grade

Friday evening we went to the school to take Joseph's supplies and find out whose class he will be in this year.  He also got to meet Ms. Fields.
Joseph laid his clothes out Sunday evening and hopped right in the shower when his alarm went off on Monday morning.
And here he is - squeaky clean and ready to go!!

Aunt Natalie's visit

Aunt Natalie came to visit this weekend and we had a great time.  The weekend went so fast but we were able to relax, enjoy a few meals out and consume more of Daddy's fabulous hotcakes.  We girls all indulged in pedis too.

Slumber Party

Joseph has been begging for a slumber party with Mama all summer.  Last summer we were able to camp in the back yard several times but pregnant/post partum Mama was not up for that.  So last night we had a slumber party in the living room.  We watched "How to Train Your Dragon" and made S'mores.  I think all the time in the sun and swimming took its toll on him because he fell asleep soon after we started a second movie.

We toasted our marshmallows in the toaster oven since it was raining out.

Swimming

In the attempt to cross more things off our "must do before school starts" list - we headed out to the pool yesterday.  I'll admit I wasn't brave enough to take all three kiddos so we went on a day that Jacob had school.  (Don't tell him.)

I am seriously in love with this little (Den) Bee.

Joseph swam with his friends for about 3 hours before we headed home.

Bowling

This year I signed us all up for the Kids Bowl Free program which allows each child in your family to bowl 2 free games a day all summer long.  I also paid the extra $25 for Christopher & I to also bowl 2 games a day.  I was feeling guilty because we haven't gone bowl a single time this summer (for obvious reasons - I think I overestimated my abilities at 8 months pregnant). Then I got a fabulous email saying that this promotion lasts through the end of October.  The boys had a lot of fun bowling with their friends so I'm sure we'll get a few more games in soon.

Denbigh had a great nap time while we bowled.

Arkansas Railroad Museum

The month of June was mostly spent at the pool and getting ready for Baby Denbigh.  July was over in a flash with the baby arriving early and all of our visitors.  And now - we have a week until school starts and so many things on our list undone!

We decided to take a little day trip to Pine Bluff on Saturday and check out the Arkansas Railroad Museum.  It was well worth the drive.  The museum is run by volunteers and donations.  The docents will talk your ear off about all the trains.  But the best part?  The actual engines, cabooses and cars that you can climb on and explore!

One of the docents gave the boys these "Engineer Training" certificates which will go so great in their train room!
We headed back to Little Rock after exploring the warehouse and had lunch at All Aboard.
