American Ninja Warrior Birthday Party

Joseph wanted an American Ninja Warrior party this year.  His original plan was that we would build an obstacle course in our yard.  While that sounds just plain awesome (yikes), Daddy had the idea of going to River City Gymnastics (brilliant)! Unfortunately they didn't have any openings next weekend on his actual birthday so we had his party early.

The kiddos had a lot of fun on the various obstacle courses.

River City Gymnastics provided all the party supplies and coaches for the kiddos.  All we had to do was bring the cake, juice boxes and goodie bags.

The goodie boxes contained "Ninja Bread Men" - thanks to our friend Alicia who had these amazing cookie cutters.

Joseph wanted an "obstacle course" cake.  Our cake had 3 obstacles: Quad Steps, Rotating Bridge and a Warped Wall.  The wall was the hardest to figure out.  I ended up baking a piece of curved gingerbread in a bowl and covering it with fondant.  It wasn't perfect but Joseph loved his cake and that's all that matters.

2-month Stats

Denbigh had her two-month well-visit last Wednesday and here are her stats:

Weight: 12 lbs. 5 oz
Height: 22.5 inches

According to the growth charts she is in the 75th and 50th percentiles respectively.  She is a bit smaller than either of her brothers at that age.  Apparently the title of "little sister" fits her well.

10-week cuteness

First big girl bath in the tub!! After an initial fit she really enjoyed splashing around.

I could just eat her up - all that delicious pink-ness.

Fall Activities

We are entering a new phase in our parenting - one of trying to figure out how to get our kids to all their overlapping activities on the same night.  We have a few kinks to work out but we'll get there.

Joseph started Cub Scouts this fall and I think he is really going to love it.
His first activity was an outdoor Fun Day that the Scouts hosted in the park.  He got to shoot a BB Gun and learn how to use a bow.  Daddy was on hand to help him with his technique.

The same night as Joseph's first den meeting Jacob started Little Rockers soccer club.
He enjoyed playing Duck, Duck Goose . . .
 and Red Light, Green Light.

He was pretty sweaty and tired by the time the hour was up.

Side note - check out the awesome soccer cleats I found for him!!!

Game Day Sewing

I cleared a big project off my sewing list this week and had some time to do some "fun sewing" for us.

First I made this fun little outfit for Denbigh.  I picked up the fun chevron fabric at the new JoAnn store this week but was excited to have everything else already.  (And the T was a free download from one of my favorite embroidery sites.)

Then I decided that the whole family needed to have the T embroidered on a shirt as well.  I did a basic T for all the boys and then just used the outline to applique the chevron fabric onto my shirt.

And just in case you're worried - I downloaded the Notre Dame logo yesterday. We need to keep things even!

2 months old

We were in Nashville on Denbigh's 2-month birthday so these were taken two days later.

I was able to capture these pics on my phone on the actual day.

She smiles all the time now!
