Joseph and the duck

Joseph has had many ducky experiences (remember this?). His current duck of choice is the duck his Grandpa made him for his birthday. I believe the tray on the front was originally intended for his snacks. . . but it doubles quite nicely as a track for cars.

It's also great for just chillin' in and watching Veggie Tales, or Blues Clues . . . or WonderPets!

"Boo" (a.k.a. Blue)

Joseph's favorite TV shows are "Blues Clues" and "Wonder Pets." He loves it when we sing the songs from the shows or when Christopher talks like Blue. Tonight as we were going through a book-reading marathon before bed, he started pointing to Blue in his book and saying "Boo" . .. . "Boo" . . . He could have been accepting a golden statue for all the applause he was getting from his parents.

Vomit

I do not handle vomit well. Not mine. Not anyone else's. It's the one part of motherhood that I wasn't looking forward to. But, I'm pleased to announce that I've successfully made it through round 2. Now - off to do more laundry. . . . .

Oh - and Joseph is fine now. When he woke up at 3:30 this morning and wanted to play and thought it was extremely funny to shove his sock in my face and hear me say "Peeuuuu, stinky feet!" . . . I knew he was on the mend.

Not even a teen yet and . .

he's always on the phone. I'm not sure who he's talking to. Sometimes they even want to talk to me. . . .

Joseph loves himself

I made a book with pictures of Joseph for my mom and mother-in-law for Christmas. I also had a copy made for us. It is by far Joseph's favorite book. He'll sit all by himself and look at it. He'll bring it to me and have me look at it with him. He loves it.

When we show him a picture of himself and ask who it is, he jubilantly says "JOSES!"

Today I printed out the picture below (we got a new printer - yay!) and when he saw it, he grabbed it and started kissing it. I'm not kidding.

blowing kisses! Of course he stopped as soon as I got out the video camera. Hopefully I'll get it soon!

Our Valentine

Wednesday, February 13, 2008

Latest words:

Teeth (usually in reference to brushing)
Y, Z (at the conclusion of singing the ABCs)
Poop (in reference to . . . well. . . poop)

The most frequently used words are still "Dada" and "Uhoh". . . . .

When I shake my finger and say "no, no, no" . . . Joseph now shakes his finger and says "dada, dada, dada"

As reported by the nursery workers after the Valentine's Dinner & Dance at church Saturday evening, when a boy about twice as old and as big as Joseph was being rough and fell right on top of Joseph, Joseph just said "UH-OH" and pushed him off.

Conclusion to the Story

A few weeks ago I posted about my life as a graduate student in a somewhat cryptic manner. As can be seen now, the countdown clock has expired indicating the event has come and gone.

Today I received the notification below. I am now...

ALL BUT DISSERTATION!

Musical Weekend

Guitar Hero rules. . . .
but why stop with guitars?!
Let's put together a whole rock band!
We spent the weekend in Atlanta at the Deck's home. Joseph enjoyed playing with all the "new" toys and following Emma around. Emma enjoyed going to find Joseph and then report (a.k.a. tattle) on what he was doing. Awesome.
