Summer Vacation - Day 21

On Monday we worked hard on getting all the laundry finished up and started packing our suitcases.  The pile of things that need to go in the car with us is being gathered in the dining room and is getting larger and larger.

In the afternoon Christopher's department got together for Happy Hour at Chuy's.  He worked with some great people and we will miss them.

After that Mama went to dinner with some of her besties following by Sangria & Dessert at Alicia's home.  These girls have been a crucial part of my life for the past 4 years.  We've been through births, loss, joy, grief, sickness and health. We've celebrated countless birthdays (for ourselves and our kiddos) and have supported each other through potty training and discipline and accomplishments.  I will miss these amazing ladies so much.

Weekend Antics

Saturday morning I was snuggling with Jacob on the couch and saw these small pimples on his feet.  After further inspection we also found them on his knees, hands and in his mouth.
I called the clinic and they were able to see him right away.  The doctor confirmed that he had Hand, Foot and Mouth and that we just needed to wait it out.  He never ran a fever and only had a few spots.
On the way home we picked up a couple items from the grocery store. . .
. . and then Jake took it easy for awhile.  He felt perfectly fine though.
Our renters came over during the day and did a walk-through our house and we went over the lawn, alarm, etc.  So glad our home will be well taken care of.

Later in the evening we finally went outside and lit our sparklers.  It was the boys' first time with sparklers and after an initial fear, they had a great time.

On Sunday morning we discovered spots on Joseph's feet, hands and mouth which made us watch our last church service at our church online.
We all snuggled up on the couch and enjoyed the worship and sermon.

Over the weekend we also took everything off the walls and patched the holes, organized the garage and basically got a lot ready for the packers to come this week.  Our home finally looks and feels like we're moving.

Summer Vacation - Day 20

On Friday we found this old cardboard space shuttle in the attic and decided to play and color it some more before sending it to the recycling bin.  The boys loved blasting off to outer space and coloring it.

Later in the afternoon we headed off for one last bowling trip before our move.

Summer Vacation - Day 19

On Thursday the boys helped me with a project I had on my list.  I had bought this fabric awhile ago and finally got around to making the boys neck pillows for our big road trip.  They helped me stuff them and they are packed in the back packs (with a bunch of other goodies) ready for our trip!

Denbigh got a tea set from her cousins Scout & Rigby for her birthday and the boys are enjoying having tea parties with her.  Such awesome big brothers.

Summer Vacation - Day 18

For the past couple of years we have been blessed every other Wednesday morning when Josephine and her crew show up to clean our house.  Josephine also showered us with her love, kisses and prayers and we will miss her so much.
While the ladies were cleaning we ran errands and this little one was so worn out that she fell asleep during lunch.
Jacob always wants to help cook so he made his own grilled ham and cheese last night for dinner.
We are now in "packing" mode.  Mama is busy organizing the last few areas of the house that are in need and we are starting to make a pile of the things that will need to travel in the car with us.  Josephine and her ladies helped us out by taking some open pantry bottles and house plants off of our hands. A neighbor is going to come by and transfer my basil and rosemary from my planters to hers.  This time next week the packers will be finishing up the house and it'll be time to load the truck.

Summer Vacation - Day 17

We spent yesterday morning at Daddy's work attending a "Good-bye Open House."

His boss and the head of the Pediatrics department presented him with this nice clock/plaque.  Such sweet words were said and we are proud to have been a part of the Arkansas Childrens Hospital Family for the past 5 years.
After a quick lunch at Chick-fil-A we returned to the Circle of Friends Clinic at ACH for Denbigh's 1-year well visit. I love the little gowns they have them wear.  She did great (check out her 1-year-old post for stats.)

Summer Vacation - Day 16

Monday - aka - the day where we mostly tried to recover from our previous week.  Denbigh and Mama brought home colds.  Mama had a dr. appt. first thing in the morning and then we needed to unpack and do laundry and practice piano and . . . . . you get the picture.  The only literal picture I have from this day is one of Denbigh hand-feeding Minnie Mae her lunch.
In the afternoon we met some friends at Yogurt Mountain for a little "good-bye" treat. We have made such sweet friends here and will miss them all terribly.

One Year Old!!!

Our sweet Denbigh Annabelle turned 1 on July 2.  I can't believe she has been a part of our family for a whole year!

At One - Denbigh:
weighs 22 pounds 7 oz and is 30" tall (75th percentile)
(for comparison - Joseph: 25 lbs. and 32 1/2 inches tall - Jacob: 25 lbs. 9 oz and 30.9 inches tall)

She signs: "all done" and "more"
She is cruising furniture like a pro and so close to walking.  She has been consistently about 6 weeks behind the boys regarding motor skills so I expect she will be walking in the next couple of weeks.

She has taken 4 airplane trips - 3 to California and 1 to Indiana.  She has also road-tripped to Indiana once, New Orleans once and Tennessee four times.

She is quite the drama queen and sobs if you tell her "no ma'am." This is often accompanied by laying on the floor with her head on her arm.  (who teaches them this?!!!)

We absolutely love our little Princess and are pretty much spoiling her rotten.

Summer Vacation - Days 11-15 & Weekend Antics

Hold on folks - you're in for a long post and lots of pictures!

Last week flew by and we went out of town so I'm condensing it into one (very long) post.

Our week started out with Joseph making us pancakes for breakfast! He did a great job measuring, stirring, pouring and flipping the pancakes.  He did an even better job eating them!

We also made a 4th of July craft that we saw on Pinterest.

And then we headed to Nana & Papa's house in Nashville where we swam, ate, played with cousins and celebrated Denbigh's first birthday!!!

We loved spending time with our family and took advantage of the holiday weekend to do some sightseeing.  Saturday morning we headed to the Loveless Cafe.  It's a popular spot and they have lots of activities with which to entertain while waiting for a table.

Get the "Moonshine Mary."  So yum.
 Then we headed downtown.

We walked over the Shelby Street Bridge where we had our wedding reception 10 years ago.

And played at the new park on the other side.

We also walked around Second Avenue a bit and relaxed at one of the pubs.  Such a great week and weekend spent with family.
