weekend fun

Papa outfitted us with a bunch of camping gear for Christmas and this weekend we finally set-up the tent for a backyard campout.

We enjoyed hot dogs and tater tots outside. . .

  . . . followed by "S'nores with smarshmallows" (Jake).

Finally it was camp out time for daddy and boys.
The next morning we headed to church.  (I just can't get enough of this sweet girl.)
And after naps we headed to the neighborhood playground for awhile.

Joseph has finally become a pro at "pumping" and can get pretty high.  Now we are down to just pushing 2 swings.

23 Months Old!!!

We are officially counting down to the big 2nd birthday for this sweet girl!  She has us all wrapped around her little finger and she knows it.  She still loves to snuggle but is also incredibly independent and lets us know how she feels about everything.  She loves to play with her brothers and in her toy room.  She loves her books, kitchen and baby doll.  Her favorite thing currently is the movie "Frozen" and she sings and dances along.  She is also a big fan of "Cinderella" and "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse."
Her vocabulary has really boomed lately and she went from a few words to complete sentences.  She also loves to count and play with letters.

Wrapping up May . . .

Daddy was gone for a few days at the end of May and so one night we had a sleepover in the living room.  This was partially a reward for Joseph who had just finished book 4 in the Harry Potter series. We had popcorn and watched the movie "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire."
We also celebrated Nana's 1st birthday in heaven with a cake and her favorite flowers - yellow roses.
On Sunday we headed to church.  Mama was excited to find out when we arrived that it was Family Sunday which meant that the big kids were joining the parents in church.  So, since Joseph was with her, she didn't have to sit alone.  :)

Daddy's flight landed while we were in church and he pulled up right next to us in the parking lot as we were getting ready to leave.  It was so nice to be able to enjoy a family brunch together.

Memorial Day

I love the summer holidays.  Ok - I love all holidays - but I was very excited to get out the patriotic decorations for Memorial Day.
Joseph added his touch with a Lego flag.
We had some church friends over to cook-out and play and enjoyed our first S'mores of the summer.

Pre-school Visits!

The boys still have a week and a half of school left for this year.  A week and a half after they get out, Denbigh will start the pre-school program at the school Jacob attended.  The school likes for the kids to come and visit their class a couple of times before officially starting to make the adjustment smoother.  I don't think D will have any trouble adjusting to school.  She jumped right in on all of their activities and pitched a royal fit when it was time to leave.

dentist and mother's day

I was going through some pics on my phone and realized I had missed posting about a couple of big events!
First was our latest trip to the dentist. The date happened to fall on Jacob's birthday so we went to Legoland for a couple of hours first.  This was our first time at our new dentist and Denbigh's first dentist visit ever.  Our new dentist and the staff were amazing.  They decorated Jacob's "bib" for his birthday and gave them a great bag with toothbrush, toothpaste, stickers and a gift.  Denbigh was given a tiara which she wears constantly.

What I don't have is the picture afterwards where she went up to the tools and tried to suck toothpaste off the cleaner tool like a little addict.  It is safe to say that she loved going to the dentist.

I also got very spoiled this Mother's Day.  Jacob & Joseph both brought cards and gifts home from school and they went with their daddy to pick out flowers.

Jacob also had a "Breakfast with Mama" at his school where they performed a song for us.  So super sweet.
