new bathroom
this post is dedicated to anyone/everyone who ever had to use the old original bathroom in this house (especially the Rampeys & Tells!). no more leaning to the left while sitting on the throne. no more yucky bathtub. it's a brand new day! there are a few finishing touches left to be done. . . . but we have a functioning, new, 2nd bathroom!

yucky & dirty
Today I finished up a sewing project that left quite a bit of fabric fuzz behind. It was a small corduroy . . . and really . . . when you sew with it, it leaves so much behind that dust bunnies form. . and have baby dust bunnies.
Joseph wakes up from his nap soon after I finished the project . . . and before I had time to clean up the rapidly reproducing corduroy dust bunnies.
"uh oh mama"
(louder) "uh oh mama!"
(even louder) "MAMA - yucky!!!"
The sound of pounding feet alerts me that I will soon be joined in the kitchen by a very traumatized little boy. He runs right past me to the broom and dust pan which is a bit much for him to handle. So I take the broom and follow him into the dining room where he excitedly points out the bunnies. He's never seen this particular green kind of dust bunnies before. He is, however, pretty familiar with the regular kind. I sweep up the bunnies while he points out every little spot I may have missed.
"yucky mama . . . . it's dirty! . . . . . . it's dirty mama! . . . . yucky! . . . . . . . ."
and since he seemed so excited about cleaning it up, I let him loose soon after that with the cordless vacuum for awhile.

Our creative halloween costumes . . .
Joseph - UT football players
Christopher - coach Fulmer (holding a cardboard sign that read "will work for donuts")
Emilie - Joseph's #1 fan = his momJoseph and his "punkin" (which he wanted to take to church with him yesterday morning. he stood by the door holding it and crying while saying "please mama, punkin? . . . please mama, punkin?" mean mama did not let him take the "punkin" to church.)

It's official . . .
Christopher successfully defended his dissertation proposal last week and his committee has signed off on it. So - officially - we have a PhD candidate in the family! Although he still has months of hard dissertation work in front of him . . . there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately this also means that we see the end of our time in Charleston nearing. But, we're excited about the adventure ahead!

Happy Halloween
After yesterday Joseph's favorite words are:
"More Chocolate?!"
"Punkin!" (which are apparently supposed to be thrown given their uncanny resemblance to a ball)
